The Situationsist, is a Georgian, Tbilisi-based fashion brand. The clothing made by this studio is beautiful, strange, challenging, and detailed. The vision and direction of the brand’s storytelling permeates into their marketing and virtual presence. Their Instagram grid is curated and effective, leading the viewer to scroll and click until they are wrapped inside the world of ‘The Situationist.’
Inside this world, you will see different silhouettes apart from the ordinary. Shapes protrude off the body in angles and volumes. Long coats cover the body, accessorized by gloves and veiled faces. Delicate knits--hug the body, exposing skin and providing coverage. The collections made by the brand paint a picture of life in Tbisili. Progressive fashion, experimental, expressive, inclusive, daring, sensual, beautiful. These shapes created--silhouettes--define a modern Georgian: clever, bold, and somehow practical with the need for coats and hats, gloves to protect themselves from the elements.
The model--
a fitness model who has seen success on YouTube, incorporated into this fashion presentation, as a representative of the modern man. His body is not what you would see for a male model, but it does capture the shape of a well-muscled man. A bodybuilder, weight-lifter, one who is attempting to expand their natural form with resistance to the body. Body-building is all about creating shapes and silhouettes on stage, through the vessel of the phsyique itself.
